Sudden Cardiac arrest death occurs due to loss of consciousness, breathing and heartbeat. This is responsible for death of many people within a year which is more than people suffering from breast cancer, colon cancer, road accident, vehicle accidents and others. Sudden cardiac arrest occurs due to heart attack or scaring from previous heart attack problem. At the time of SCA, the pacemaker cell in heart that is responsible for contract and relaxes of heart becomes chaotic and disorganized. Many victims develop symptoms only moments before their heart stops and some experience the cardiac arrest itself as the first, last and only indication of heart disease. This causes death of victim but if receives shock with Automated External Defibrillator in a few minutes then able to fight from death. When Aed shock is given to person then the blood moves through the complete body, provide oxygen through body and brain and extent the heart electrical activity. An AED gives a shock of electricity through the heart causing it to contract and stop its erratic fibrillation. This allows the cells in the heart to reset back into a normal beat.

Time is very critical factor in making the difference between life and death. If you don’t get the defibrillator shock on time then in five to six minutes, there is a possibility that damage of brain occurs and in ten minutes heart will not fibrillate and responsible for death and shows flat line. As if there is no electrical activity in heart then chances of survival almost zero. It is always good to use defibrillator at home to give instant shock and trained with its use to utilize it properly and save the life of your loving one and also people at public places.

There are lot of models of Automated External Defibrillators available with minor differences and all the devices gives instructions that are designed for use by a non-medical professional but good to train for effective use. The AED will decide if the victim needs a shock and will then guide you through the rescue with verbal cues via pictures or written text. Public access defibrillators are becoming more extensive and are seen in airports, malls, casinos, health clubs, restaurants, golf courses, public parks, churches and office buildings.
