ancy Savage is a former reporter and free-lance writer. She first met Nickel when she took her den of Cub Scouts on a field trip to visit a buffalo refuge. Nickel was still a calf and acted very much like a dog. Years later, after he lost his horns, she wanted to share Nickel's story. She lives in Colorado on Lookout Mountain with her husband, three children, one dog and two cats. This is her first collaboration with her sister, Kathy Parks.
